Terms of Service
Last updated: June 10, 2026
Welcome to conference-ratings.com (the "Service"), operated by ElianCodes BV ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.
1. The Service
conference-ratings.com lets attendees rate and review tech conferences across seven dimensions, and lets conference organizers claim their event, respond to reviews, and access analytics through a paid Organizer subscription.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- A verified email address is required to submit ratings or claim a conference.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
3. Ratings & content
- Rate only conferences you actually attended, and share your honest, first-hand experience.
- You retain ownership of your reviews, and grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to display and distribute them as part of the Service.
- Prohibited: spam, advertising, offensive or defamatory content, fake reviews, review manipulation (including incentivised or coordinated rating), and rating your own event.
- We may moderate — hide or remove — content that violates these rules, and users can report reviews for moderation.
4. Organizer subscriptions & sponsored placements
- Paid plans are billed through our merchant of record, Paddle, which handles checkout, invoicing, and payment data. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the transaction.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Sponsored placements are always visually labeled and never change a conference's score or ranking.
- Paying for an Organizer plan does not grant any influence over ratings or moderation.
5. Refunds
See our Refund Policy: full refund within 14 days of your first purchase, no questions asked.
6. Disclaimer & liability
Reviews reflect the opinions of their authors, not ours. The Service is provided "as is"; to the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Belgian law.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the Service or by email. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes go to the competent courts of Belgium, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
